About Me

Born in Akron Ohio, David moved to the Paul Smiths area in 2006 when he fell in love with the natural beauty of the Adirondacks. Soon thereafter, he attended Paul Smith’s College where he earned a Bachelor of Science from the School of Forestry.

After graduation, David specialized in working with local farms where he honed his skills in customer service and developed a wide-reaching client network which led to caretaking positions at many prestigious Adirondack camps.

David lives in Paul Smiths with his wife Elizabeth, a Research Associate and the Laboratory Manager for the Adirondack Watershed Institute (AWI), and his daughter Eloise. They are often found together enjoying the outdoors, especially anything water related. Be it paddling on the St. Regis chain of Lakes, fishing for brook trout on many of the local small streams and ponds, or going for a swim!

Outside of work, David pursues many passions. He enjoys cooking and his enthusiasm for eating locally sourced foods is contagious! Also an avid trail runner and cross country skier, he supports his alma mater by contributing his expertise to the many trails and programs at the Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) at Paul Smith’s College. David also loves to give back when he can, and has been an active volunteer for Special Olympics.

If you have questions about how to manage your large Adirondack forest acreage, want to know how to help your new home’s natural outdoor habitat thrive, or simply want the best advice on where to raise your family in the Adirondacks; ask David!
