Brooks H. Reynolds
Real Estate Broker / Owner

Brooks Reynolds has called Lake Placid home since 2004, when she began her real estate career. A native of North Carolina, Brooks earned her degree in management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to moving to Lake Placid, she was a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captain and a notable fishing guide who worked with clients up and down the east coast. Devoted to her Adirondack Community, she serves as a trustee for the Wild Center and for the Lake Placid Olympic Museum. She has also been an active volunteer for the Lake Placid Center for the Arts and serves as the Director for the Northern Adirondack Board of Realtors. She enjoys skiing, cycling, boating and raising her son, Thomas, and daughter, Ava in the Adirondacks.

Steve Reynolds
Associate Broker / Owner

Steve Reynolds is a Lake Placid native who has spent much of his career in residential and commercial real estate and development. In addition to working as a broker for The Reynolds Group, Steve works as managing director for Coldstream Developers, Inc., which has developed residential real estate in North Carolina. Steve is a graduate of Northwood School and St. Lawrence University, where he competed as a Division 1 alpine skier who earned All-American honors and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2023. He has been an active supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He enjoys alpine and Nordic skiing, and is an avid sportsman who has worked as a fishing guide and who enjoys a range of hunting and other outdoor activities.

Brandon Montag
Licensed Real Estate Sales Person

Brandon Montag is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson at The Reynolds Group of Lake Placid, and the former Sales Director for The Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort for the past 9 years. At the Golden Arrow, Brandon was been responsible for growing the resort’s event and wedding business and managing a staff that consistently earns 5-Star reviews for their outstanding customer service.

After graduating from Fort Lewis College, in Durango, Colorado, Brandon began his career as an agent at State Farm Insurance. While there, he met his wife Andrea, and moved back to his hometown of Eagle, where they established their own insurance firm, The Montag Group. They later married and moved back to Andrea’s hometown of Lake Placid, N.Y. to work in the family’s business, The Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort.

Brandon grew up in the Vail Valley of Colorado, gaining firsthand experience with the challenges faced by rapidly growing, mountain resort towns. And it’s this experience that gives him a unique perspective on Lake Placid’s own growth and tourism-driven economy.

Brandon cares about community and strives to give back whenever he can. He volunteers his time serving on 3 local committees; as Vice Chair of the North Country Sports Council, as Vice President of the Lake Placid Business Association, and as a member of the Community Development Commission.

His sharp focus on a customer-centric experience drove sales at The Golden Arrow and his passionate attention to detail will reward you as a real estate client at The Reynolds Group.

Brandon is a resident of Lake Placid, where he lives and plays with his wife Andrea and 2 boys, Luke and Charlie, and daughter, Ayla. They are all avid skiers and love boating during our stunning Adirondack summers.

David Trahey
Licensed Real Estate Sales Person

Born in Akron Ohio, David moved to the Paul Smiths area in 2006 when he fell in love with the natural beauty of the Adirondacks. Soon thereafter, he attended Paul Smith’s College where he earned a Bachelor of Science from the School of Forestry.

After graduation, David specialized in working with local farms where he honed his skills in customer service and developed a wide-reaching client network which led to caretaking positions at many prestigious Adirondack camps.

David lives in Paul Smiths with his wife Elizabeth, a Research Associate and the Laboratory Manager for the Adirondack Watershed Institute (AWI), and his daughter Eloise. They are often found together enjoying the outdoors, especially anything water related. Be it paddling on the St. Regis chain of Lakes, fishing for brook trout on many of the local small streams and ponds, or going for a swim!

Outside of work, David pursues many passions. He enjoys cooking and his enthusiasm for eating locally sourced foods is contagious! Also an avid trail runner and cross country skier, he supports his alma mater by contributing his expertise to the many trails and programs at the Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) at Paul Smith’s College. David also loves to give back when he can, and has been an active volunteer for Special Olympics.

Shannon Eaton
Licensed Real Estate Sales Person

Shannon Eaton has lived in the Adirondacks since 2009. It’s here that she and her husband, Tyler, founded Blue Pepper Farm, a thriving sheep dairy specializing in sheep milk yogurt, a business they actively run today.

Originally, Shannon graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with degrees in Psychology and Communications. Before her venture into the dairy farm business, she had a successful corporate career in client-centric roles at Maersk Line, a major world shipping company, working in offices from Atlanta to Singapore.

She moved to Jay, NY in 2009 where her family has deep roots and pivoted to farming and managing her bustling “farm stay” vacation rental. She is heavily engaged in the local food and farm scene, co-founded the Adirondack Fibershed, currently sits on the board at Little Peaks Preschool and was a former board member of Adirondack Harvest.

When she’s not out in her pastures, she can be found hiking, skiing, or splashing in the Au Sable River with her family and friends.

Shannon and Tyler have two children, Wyatt and Shep, and know all there is to know about raising kids in the Adirondacks! She’s a truly an amazing local resource, and can even help you with suggestions on managing your Adirondack rental spaces or even creating your own homestead.

Ben Breckenridge
Licensed Real Estate Sales Person

Ben Breckenridge, a native of the quaint and historic Essex on Lake Champlain, has a rich background that blends environmental stewardship with real estate acumen. After graduating from St. Lawrence University with a BA in Environmental Studies-Sociology, Ben furthered his education at Cal Poly Humboldt, earning an MBA with a focus on sustainable business.

Ben’s journey took him to California, where he honed his skills in environmental project management and real estate, obtaining his salesperson license. Here, he managed complex land entitlement projects and consulted for various startups, gaining a multifaceted understanding of the business world.

In 2022, Ben returned to his beloved North Country, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience. His deep connection to the region, combined with his extensive understanding of real estate and sustainable practices, makes him an invaluable asset to those seeking their dream property in the Adirondacks. Ben’s approach to real estate is grounded in a passion for the community and the environment, ensuring clients benefit from his unique perspective and expertise.

When he’s not helping clients navigate the real estate market, Ben enjoys the tranquility of outdoor life, hiking the Champlain Area Trails with his dogs and nurturing his 17-acre hobby farm.

Scott Mierop
Licensed Real Estate Sales Person

Scott is a longtime resident of the Adirondacks who brings nearly two decades of business, advertising, marketing, and technology experience to his work in real estate. As the founder of Xuubra Media, he has consulted with a wide range of small and mid-sized businesses across the Adirondacks, including retail, real estate, and urgent care healthcare providers. His work has also extended to projects for the New York State Police and the Department of Environmental Conservation, and was once approved by the governor of NY to be onboard the NY State Police helicopter photographing summer and winter rescue hoist operations.

Scott co-founded LOCALadk Magazine and played a key role in launching Adirondack Integrative Health in Lake Placid. He is also an experienced commercial photographer and founder of F2FOTO, with real estate photography published in the Wall Street Journal. Earlier in his career, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry, where he held leadership roles in brand management, territory management, and national sales training—developing incentive programs, training systems, and strategic tools for sales teams across the country.

In 2018, he designed and built a passive-solar, modern mountain style house in Wilmington, NY, and enjoys exploring modern, innovative, efficient building techniques.

A former pilot and aviation business owner, Scott took his first aerobatic instruction flight in 1992 with a WWII fighter pilot over the North Shore of Oahu. Scott is also a PSIA-certified Level II alpine ski instructor and a former USSA alpine ski coach. He coached J1 and J2 athletes through NYSEF at both Northwood School and the National Sports Academy.

He holds a degree in Business Administration and volunteers his time with The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue and the Tupper Lake Sportsmen’s Club. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing, hiking, free-diving, Hawaii, the Pacific Ocean, and exploring the Adirondacks and Maine Coast with his amazing little dog, Gary the Dachshund.
