Lake Placid: Where American Dreams Come True

Lake Placid is a community full of family businesses. One of the biggest in the community is The Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort.  RTG Team member, Brandon Montag, is also a part of the Holderied family, owners of The Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort.

In three generations the Holderied’s turned a family business into a Lake Placid staple.

Wini and Stephanie Holderied were both born in Germany.  They moved to Lake Placid in 1964. Ten years later they purchased a 36-room motel with an amazing location right on Mirror Lake and have spent the last 47 years transforming it into what we know today as The Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort.

Fast forward to today and the business is still family oriented. Peter is the Head Building Manager, Jenn is the acting General Manager, Andrea is the Operations and HR Manager, Brandon is the Director of Group Sales, Natasha is the Restaurant (Generations) General Manager and Alex is the newest family member to come into the business and is Peter’s apprentice. 

In addition, all of the family members have active roles in Lake Placid, most sitting on at least one board or another, following in Stephy’s footsteps as leaders in their local community.
